Why RocklandCountyConnect?
The name RocklandCountyConnect comes from my personal connection to Rockland County. I have been a Rockland County resident for years, and this community has become an important part of my life.
I enjoy living here, raising my family here, studying, working, and being part of the community. Over the years, I have developed a strong appreciation for the people, diversity, businesses, neighborhoods, services, and opportunities that make Rockland County home.
RocklandCountyConnect reflects my desire to give something meaningful back to the community where I have built my life.
The word “Connect” represents the main purpose of the platform: connecting people with their community.

Connecting residents with events, schools, healthcare, services, and places throughout Rockland County.
My goal is to dedicate my knowledge, time, and effort to building RocklandCountyConnect into a useful platform for the county I am proud to call home.
Founder Story
RocklandCountyConnect was inspired by Valdo Simon’s experience during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. That period highlighted the importance of having easier access to local information, businesses, services, opportunities, and community resources in one place.
As a longtime Rockland County resident, Valdo wanted the idea to focus specifically on the community where he lives and has built an important part of his life.
Rather than immediately hiring someone to build the platform, Valdo chose to develop the idea over time while strengthening his knowledge and understanding of technology.
In 2026, drawing on knowledge gained as a cybersecurity student at SUNY Westchester Community College, combined with technology support and years of learning, research, and planning, Valdo began turning the original idea into RocklandCountyConnect.
The name represents the mission. Rockland County represents the community the platform serves. Connect represents bringing residents, businesses, services, opportunities, organizations, and local resources together.
RocklandCountyConnect represents years of ideas, learning, planning, personal effort, and a commitment to the community.

With knowledge gained through cybersecurity studies at SUNY Westchester Community College, years of preparation, and technology support, Valdo began transforming the original concept into RocklandCountyConnect.
