Copyright / Content Removal
RocklandCountyConnect must use original, permitted, or properly licensed content
This policy applies to every current and future section of the website, including businesses, events, housing, community posts, promotions, images, videos, news, history, maps, and local guides.
Strict content-use rules
Do not copy text directly from another website unless permission or a valid license allows reuse. Business descriptions from Google, Yelp, Facebook, TripAdvisor, Yellow Pages, or another directory must not be copied.
Descriptions should be original and based on verified public facts. Business photos, event flyers, menus, social media posts, logos, and promotional materials should be used only when the owner uploads them, gives permission, or the material has a clear license allowing commercial reuse.
Local news should be written as an original summary, credit the original source, and link users to the original publication. Full news articles and large copied sections should not be reproduced.
Historical content must be checked before publication. Images and documents should be public domain, permitted government works, properly licensed, or used with permission.
Do not assume material is free to use because it appears on Google. Do not use AI-generated copies of protected logos, copyrighted characters, artwork, or branded advertising. RocklandCountyConnect should stay visually original.
