Trust & Safety

Marketplace Safety

Marketplace features should include fraud reporting, prohibited-item rules, moderation, and safe transaction guidance.

  • Do not allow prohibited, illegal, recalled, dangerous, or age-restricted items.
  • Users should be able to report scams, fake listings, duplicate listings, and unsafe behavior.
  • The platform should not guarantee sellers, buyers, items, or transactions.
  • Meet in public places and use common-sense safety practices for local exchanges.
  • For your safety, arrange local exchanges during daylight hours, preferably between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, at a police station, police department, or officially designated safe-exchange location. Confirm the location and availability before meeting.
  • Do not describe every police station as an approved exchange location unless that safe-exchange use has been verified.
